Tinnitus affects thousands of people all over the world. Tinnitus can be a seriously inconvenient condition that can affect one’s everyday life and get in the way of even the simplest of hearing tasks. Patients with Tinnitus often suffer for years without knowing how they can cure it. Thomas Coleman, a medical researcher, produced The Tinnitus Miracle, a program designed to cure people of their Tinnitus symptoms and relieve their condition permanently.

Who is Thomas Coleman?

Thomas Coleman is a previous Tinnitus survivor. He had the condition for over twelve years and began researching cures do the condition after finally getting tired of living with it. He first noticed it after an evening of sitting by a piano for over three hours; his ears began ringing and didn’t stop. The ringing continued for some time. He tried everything to cure his Tinnitus through vitamins, herbal supplements, and hearing exercises, but nothing seemed to cure it completely.

Coleman even went under the knife to cure his Tinnitus. He thought the Tinnitus surgery would cure his discomfort, but it persisted. After his unsuccessful surgery, he began doing medical research to find a cure for Tinnitus. He continued his research for several years, trying to cure his Tinnitus through trial and error. Along the way he discovered a combination of treatments that seemed to cure his Tinnitus symptoms. After a few months of refining his research and findings, he was convinced that this problem was cured.

After a few years of following his system, Coleman decided to test his cure on others. He began a study using 27 men and women, asking them to use his program. The study lasted around seven weeks, and at the end most of the participants had experienced a dramatic improvement in their condition, most reporting a complete recovery from their Tinnitus.

Thomas Coleman took his experiments and findings and turned them into the Tinnitus Miracle. Since its release, the Tinnitus Miracle has become one of the leading Tinnitus cures available on the market today. Its effectiveness and reliability have allowed it to gain notoriety among not only patients, but doctors as well.

What is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus affects around 1 in every five people. It is a very common condition, particularly in adults and elderly people. Tinnitus can be a temporary condition; it can also be permanent. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a disease, but a symptom of other conditions. Tinnitus sufferers hear noises and humming when there is no sound to be heard. Most patients describe it as a ringing or high pitched humming in their ears.

Tinnitus can be caused by a number of different conditions. Some patients experience it after listening to loud noises or music, even if only for a brief period of time. Tinnitus can also be caused by foreign objects entering one’s ear or ear canal, damaging them internally. Other causes of Tinnitus include ear infections, nasal allergies with abnormal fluid drainage, and other illnesses.

One of the most common causes of Tinnitus is the use of inner ear headphones. Most people don’t realize that damaging effects that headphones can have on the ears if they’re not properly used. These headphones, if not used properly or if used to play music too loudly, can cause serious damage to your hearing.

Tinnitus can also result from natural hearing loss, whether it is genetic or caused by trauma to the ears. Older adults have been known to report symptoms of Tinnitus, including a mild humming in their ears or a slight ringing. Some medications have also been known to lead to Tinnitus.

What is the Tinnitus Miracle?

The Tinnitus Miracle is Thomas Coleman’s book, written after his extensive research with Tinnitus cures. The book has helped hundreds of Tinnitus patients with their various Tinnitus problems, including further hearing loss, ringing, and humming noises. Coleman’s book is meant to alleviate, and in some cases cure, Tinnitus.
The book outlines a holistic cure to the condition. This means that the whole program is done without medications or surgeries. Each of Coleman’s cures are natural and don’t require any use of harmful chemicals or procedures. Many users of the Tinnitus Miracle have reported very positive results. Some have even reported their Tinnitus being completely cured.

How does the Tinnitus Miracle work?

The Tinnitus Miracle includes some simple techniques that are meant to help alleviate the discomfort that comes with Tinnitus. These techniques include:

The use of organic herbs and other supplements that regulate the body’s natural processes.
Simple lifestyle changes that enhance the Tinnitus miracle’s effects in everyday life.
A list of activities and foods to avoid in order to help cure your Tinnitus.
Breathing and meditation methods that will keep your Tinnitus from getting worse.
Other techniques and processes meant to put an end to the humming, ringing, and hearing loss associated with Tinnitus.

Thomas Coleman, the creator of the Tinnitus Miracle’s message to fellow Tinnitus sufferers:
On his official Tinnitus Miracle website, www.tinnitusmiracle.com, Thomas Coleman, a physician and a former Tinnitus sufferer himself, provides a personal message to patients suffering from Tinnitus.

“My name is Thomas Coleman and over the past 14 years, through a long process of trial, error and experimentation, I have developed a sure-fire, clinically researched system that is backed by 45,000+ hours of intense medical research for eliminating tinnitus for good. This is a very rare, highly unique and potently powerful tinnitus healing system, which very few people even know exists…

If you would like to learn how to cure your tinnitus permanently … without drugs, without risky surgery, without any typical Tinnitus treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read. I guarantee it and I’ve got the results to prove it!”

Thomas Coleman’s experience with Tinnitus has created hope for hundreds of people with the same hearing and inner ear problems. Information on Thomas Coleman and the Tinnitus Miracle can be found both on his official website as well as in the Tinnitus Miracle.

Do you have a constant ringing in your ears? Maybe what you hear is more like a whooshing sound, or a pulse. Some people describe the sounds they hear as buzzing, roaring, humming, chirping, or hissing. Unless there is an external cause, all of these annoying sounds can be attributed to a disorder called tinnitus.

In the United States, tinnitus affects between 35 and 50 million people. While tinnitus can affect anyone, it is more common among the elderly and is sometimes associated with hearing loss.
Pulsatile tinnitus is characterized by a pulsating noise rather than a constant ring. While it is unclear what exactly causes pulsatile tinnitus, some common triggers include:

Benign intracranial hypertension
Glomus tumor
Athersclerotic carotid artery disease
Intracranial vascular lesions
Middle ear effusion
Venous hum
Twisted arteries
Less common causes include
Arnold-Chiari malformation
Turbulent flow in arteries
Benign Intracranial Hypertension (BIH)

Benign intracranial hypertension occurs when there is increased pressure of cerebrospinal fluid. This fluid bathes the brain. Increased pressure affects both the spinal column and the brain. The majority of patients with BIH are young, overweight females. Other symptoms of this condition include ear fullness, hearing loss, headaches, dizziness, and visual disturbances.

Treatment for BIH includes diuretics and weight loss. Sometimes a lumbar puncture or spinal tap is also required to relieve the pressure, but this treatment is often unnecessary.

Glomus Tumor

Glomus tumors are benign. They are vascular tumors, which means they consist of intertwined blood vessels that form a mass. Glomus tumors are often located in the ear or just below the ear at the skull base. Tinnitus or pulsatile tinnitus are common symptoms associated with glomus tumors. Hearing loss is also common.
Treatment for glomus tumors differs depending on your age range. Younger patients usually require surgery to remove the tumor. Older patients may not need treatment because the tumors are often growing at such a slow pace.

Atherosclerotic Carotid artery Disease

You’ve probably heard the term atherosclerosis, but do you know what it means? Atherosclerosis is the narrowing of arteries due to cholesterol build-up. To compensate, the body amps up your blood flow. This is sometimes called turbulent blood flow, and it can cause pulsatile tinnitus. The condition can usually be controlled with medication.

Intracranial Vasular Lesions

These lesions can include aneurisms and arteriovenous malformations. Arteriovenous malformations occur when arteries and veins are not connected in the way they should be connected. Blood bypasses capillaries, flowing from high pressure to low pressure unchecked.

Both aneurisms and arteriovenous malformations can lead to bleeding in the brain. This is usually treated with surgery or embolizing the blood vessels.

Middle Ear Effusion

Middle ear effusion occurs when fluid accumulates in the middle ear. The middle ear is usually air filled, so fluid should be there at all. Fluid build up is usually due to infection, inflammation, or Eustacian tube dysfunction. This accumulation of fluid can result in pulsatile tinnitus.

Middle ear effusion is usually treated with antibiotics, decongestants, nasal sprays, or sometimes surgery, depending on the cause (infection, inflammation, etc.).

Venous Hum

Venous hum is the result of increased blood flow through the jugular vein. The jugular passes the middle ear and turbulent flow can be heard as a “hum.”

Of course, the increased blood flow can be the result of a few different conditions, including pregnancy, anemia, or thyroid problems. Treatment for the resultant hum us correction of the underlying problem that caused it.

Twisted Arteries

Sometimes, twisted arteries cause tinnitus. Twisted arteries in the head and neck cause turbulent blood flow, which can be heard in the ears as tinnitus. This condition usually doesn’t require treatment.

Less common causes of pulsatile tinnitus include Arnold-Chiari malformation and turbulent blood flow. Turbulent blood flow can be triggered by several medical conditions, some of which have already been mentioned. Arnold-Chiari malformation is the name for a condition in which the cerebellum in elongated. When this elongation is pushed through the base of the skull, it blocks the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. In some cases, this results in spasms of the muscles in the middle ear. These spasms are heard as crackling or rumbling sounds.

Coping Strategies

If you are suffering from tinnitus, there are a few things you can do to ease your discomfort:
Avoid irritants
Mask or cover up noise
Use a hearing aid
Reduce stress
Reduce use of salt

Avoid the sounds, foods, and even medications that make your symptoms worse. You can also try listening to soft music or other sounds to mask the pulsing noise in your head. If your tinnitus is associated with hearing loss, using your hearing aids can also help mask the sounds in your ears. Stress often triggers worsened tinnitus, so learn how to relax in the face of irritants. Lastly, reduce the use of salt since salt can increase the fluid buildup in your ears.

Remedies

There are several remedies available for tinnitus. While there is no cure, you might be able to find some relief using one of these natural remedies:

Ginkbo biloba
Melatonin
B Vitamins
Zinc
Magnesium

Natural remedies could offer you the relief you’ve been dreaming of, but even natural remedies have risks and side effects. Make sure you understand what you are consuming before you start taking supplements. If you are taking medication, you will want to ask your pharmacist how the supplements will interact with your medication.
Of course, tinnitus is often the result of a medical condition. Seek treatment for your condition, and you might find relief from your tinnitus as well.

See Your Doctor

If you have a constant ringing, buzzing, roaring, humming, chirping, hissing, whooshing, pulsating, or other annoying noise sounding in your ears, seek medical attention. What may seem to be just a minor annoyance could prove to be a symptom of a larger underlying condition. Seeing your doctor is your best option to find relief and stay healthy.

What is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus is a disorder that affects between 35 and 50 million people in the United States. It is chiefly characterized by ringing in the ears. Some people describe a different sound, such as buzzing, roaring, humming, chirping, or hissing. In any case, the sound is not caused by outside noise.

Tinnitus can happen in anyone, but is more common in the elderly. In most people, the noise of tinnitus is constant, but it can change in nature or intensity. It affects people in different ways. For some people, tinnitus is no big deal. For others, it is intolerable.

While the cause of tinnitus is unclear, it can be triggered by a number of conditions: ear infections, blocked ear canal or eustacian tube, otosclerosis, labyrinthitis, Meniere’s disease, or a blast injury, to name a few.

What Can I Do?

If you are suffering from tinnitus, the cure might not be clear. There are, however, a few lifestyle changes that can help ease your discomfort:
Avoid irritants
Mask or cover up noise
Use a hearing aid
Reduce stress
Reduce use of salt

Loud noises can aggravate tinnitus. Avoid the things that you know will exacerbate your condition. Other irritants may include nicotine, caffeine, tonic water containing quinine, alcohol, and excessive doses of aspirin.
You can also try masking the sounds ringing in your ears with other sounds, like a fan or soft music. Listening to pleasant sounds may ease your discomfort, especially when sleeping or trying to sleep.

If your tinnitus is accompanied by hearing loss, a hearing aid will amplify outside sounds, which also may work to mask the ringing.

Stress seems to make tinnitus worse. Learn how to relax when the noise in your ears becomes the most frustrating.

Lastly, reducing your use of salt can help since salt tends to increase the buildup of fluid in the ear.

Other Remedies

Even making an effort to avoid irritants won’t make your tinnitus go away. Unfortunately, because the cause of tinnitus is unknown, a cure is hard to come up with. If you have an underlying condition, treatment for that should come first. You might even find that your tinnitus disappears once your condition is treated. If not, there are a series of natural tinnitus remedies.

These remedies include:
Gingko Biloba
Melatonin
B Vitamins
Zinc
Magnesium

While all of these remedies are considered safe and effective, one stands out above the rest: gingko biloba. Gingko biloba as a remedy for tinnitus has seen significant success. Ginkgo biloba is an herb that comes from the maidenhair tree. In Europe and the United States, gingko biloba extracts are among the best selling herbal supplements.

Where Does Gingko biloba Come From?

Gingko comes from the maidenhair tree. The maidenhair tree is one of the oldest living tree species. A single tree can live as long as one thousand years. Some trees are reported to be at least 120 feet. The maidenhair tree has short branches with fan-shaped leaves. The tree also produces inedible fruits that produce a strong odor.

Benefits of Ginkgo biloba

Several studies show that gingko biloba improves blood circulation and memory. Tinnitus is believed to be caused by nerve damage or disorders of the blood vessels. Since ginkgo is good for circulation, it can aid with disorders of the blood vessels, thus promoting tinnitus relief.

How Much Should I Take?

The recommended dosage for gingko biloba tinnitus treatment is 120 to 240 milligrams per day. Most of those who use gingko tinnitus remedy start seeing results within a few weeks, but often full relief doesn’t come for 3 or 4 months.

Where Can I Find It?

Gingko biloba is very inexpensive. It is readily available at most drug stores, pharmacies, and even grocery stores. Ginkgo is a natural remedy, and as such has very few side effects associated with it. Possible side effects include stomach upset, headaches, skin reactions, and dizziness. However, the majority of people who take ginkgo biloba supplements report no side effects.

Side effects and Risk Factors

In one study, some of the patients used a cheaper brand of gingko biloba to relieve their symptoms. These patients experienced some gastrointestinal problems. Once they switched to a more well-known brand, these effects disappeared and they reported increased relief from their tinnitus discomfort. Side effects can also be alleviated by only taking the recommended dosage.

There is very little risk when taking gingko biloba. Even if it doesn’t cure your tinnitus, it can help improve your circulation and cognitive brain function. However, there are some people who should not take gingko, or take it with caution. These people include those with epilepsy, diabetes, and pregnant or breastfeeding women.
If are taking medication, you might want to talk to your doctor before taking gingko biloba extracts. Gingko may interact with both prescription and non-prescription medications. If you are taking any of the following, you should talk to your health care provider before starting gingko biloba:

Seizure medications
Antidepressants
High blood pressure medications
Blood-thinning medications
Ibuprofen
Medications used to lower blood sugar
Cyclosporine (immunosuppressant)
Thiazide diuretics (water pills)
Trazadone

If you have other health concerns, your doctor is the best authority. Speak with your health care provider about any conditions or concerns you have before starting any new supplements, including ginkgo biloba.

Get Relief

If you suffer from tinnitus, you just want an answer. There are several natural tinnitus remedies out there. Find out which one is for you, and you can start feeling relief within only a few weeks.

Gingko biloba has seen vast success in many studies and trials. If you are a candidate for the gingko biloba tinnitus remedy, try it today. It is inexpensive and widely available. You can experience the natural healing properties of this ancient herb, just get yourself to the nearest drug store.

Have you been trying to find a reliable way to treat your mild or moderate case of tinnitus? If so, then you certainly know how annoying it can be to always be dealing with a ringing in your ears. While many people have given up and resigned themselves to just “live with it” the rest of their lives, the fact is that you really can reduce the symptoms of this condition, or even remove it completely. If you’ve been trying to get rid of the annoying ringing in your ears, then keep reading for some of the top treatments for tinnitus.

First of all, it should be noted that there is no particular medication or pill that has been shown to be effective in treating tinnitus. So before you go buying into a “wonder pill” to get rid of the ringing, you should step back and realize that there really is no such thing. There was one study performed in Brazil in 2005 that showed some improvement for those with tinnitus, but the drug is still undergoing testing and is not yet available on the market.

Home remedies are the way to go when treating tinnitus, then. Along those lines, reducing or eliminating your intake of caffeine and salt has been shown to help relieve the symptoms of tinnitus. While these substances are normally harmless for most people, they have been shown to have some small adverse effects on the body, and if you already have tinnitus, including them in your diet certainly doesn’t help. Getting rid of them will help relieve the symptoms of your tinnitus.
While it’s generally a good idea all-around, quitting smoking will also help reduce the ringing in your ears. It’ll give your overall health a huge boost, too.

It has been noted that some people who suffer from tinnitus also have low levels of zinc in their system, and adding a zinc supplement has helped alleviate the symptoms of tinnitus for some people. Be sure to check with your doctor before starting a supplement plan to see whether it could actually help you or not.

Another study suggests that melatonin can help people who suffer from tinnitus, especially those who have trouble sleeping because of the persistent ringing. This has not been verified in any kind of controlled study, however, so be cautious if you decide to use melatonin, and as with anything else, check with your physician first.

Many people report that Ginkogo Balboa is a great natural remedy for tinnitus, but keep in mind that it hasn’t been proven to be effective in any controlled studies. It’s not a dangerous substance by any means, so if you want to give it a try, it certainly wouldn’t hurt you.

Do you suffer from tinnitus, or ringing in your ears?

If so, then you’re certainly familiar with how frustrating and annoying the problem can be. In fact, many people across the country and around the world suffer from the same problem, and in some cases, it can seem like there’s just nothing out there that could work for you. Before you lose hope, you should realize that the problem really can be solved, regardless of how mild or severe your case may be. What many people don’t understand, however, is exactly what can cause the ringing in your ears. Before you can treat the problem, you need to know what causes it. Continue reading for some of the main causes of tinnitus.

The first cause is also the most obvious, and it applies to most cases of ringing in the ears. If you want to avoid tinnitus altogether, then you should make it a point to avoid prolonged exposure to loud noises without any kind of protection, since this is the main cause of ear ringing. Those who have worked in a loud environment can tell you that tinnitus is a real problem if no ear protection is used. Before recent years, people just didn’t know that long exposure to loud noises could really cause serious hearing problems, and as a result, many of those people have developed a case of tinnitus. Those who work in the construction or warehouse fields are the most at risk for this problem, since loud noises are a regular part of their job. This is why it’s essential to utilize proper protection for your ears — don’t be fooled into thinking that you don’t need it!

General hearing loss is another major cause of tinnitus. As you know, it’s perfectly natural for some “head noise” to be present in everyone, which usually manifests itself as a slight ringing in the ears — you’ll notice this if you go somewhere that is completely silent and the only thing you’re left to hear is the ringing in your ears. If one’s hearing gets worse, then he or she will have less to drown out the ringing with. This is why tinnitus is especially present in older people, who are more prone to hearing loss. Old age isn’t the only cause, though: if you have some accident that reduces your hearing capability, then you have a better chance of getting tinnitus.

Another less common cause of tinnitus is ear wax blockage, which can lead to hearing loss, as mentioned above. When too much wax accumulates in the ear canal, it can harden and become too difficult to remove naturally, which could irritate the ear drum and lead to tinnitus.

Author Thomas Coleman has packed an impressive amount of information into Tinnitus Miracle System‘s 334 pages. As modern medicine has so far failed to find a reliable and continuously effective treatment for tinnitus, it’s no wonder that most people approach this product with skepticism.

First off, a bit of background on Mr. Coleman. He’s been researching and working on ways to cure titinnitus for more than 14 years. Unique to his approach is his holistic attitude. He believes that tinnitus treatment must look at the entire body in order to give long term results. In some senses, the depth and thoroughness of his writing may turn away some people who could really benefit from it — but as long as you realize going in that this is a holistic approach, you should be fine.

The content of the book is broken down into a few different sections. The initial chapters talk about how your hearing works and “everything you need to know about tinnitus.” While some of the sidebars are a bit technical, I’d say 95% of the information is easy to understand and accessible to the general population. No need to read this with a medical dictionary at your side!

While the hearing and tinnitus information is interesting, most people purchase this eBook because they want to stop their tinnitus (duh!) and the 3rd chapter is where things kick into high gear. Here, Mr. Coleman shows you how to diagnose the type and severity of your tinnitus. If you’ve seen a few doctors for your condition, you likely have an idea of what to expect. I had spoken with my doctor several times about my tinnitus and wish I had brought the checklist in this book with me! While some of the information is aimed at people who wish to talk about tinnitus with a medical professional, many of the diagnostic tests can be done at home.

Chapter 4 follows with information on tinnitus and our emotions. Here we learn about how tinnitus causes anxiety and can play with your emotions. Mr. Coleman also touches on the type of mindset you need in order to have success with a tinnitus treatment program.

After 130+ pages of great info, the real meat of the Tinnitus Miracle starts. Mr. Coleman has divided his treatment plan into a 5-pronged approach. Steps range from dietary changes and supplements to immune system boosting and tinnitus retraining. What surprises me most about this part of the eBook is that the depth of information. Some other tinnitus courses simply tell you to take some vitamin C pills and your ear ringing will go away: here the information is more concrete in what to take and expect, but can often be overwhelming.

The other treatment plans include detox and hypnotherapy, two treatments that I was familiar with, but had no idea could be applied to tinnitus. The information here alone is worth the price of admission.

The real question is: does the Tinnitus Miracle system work? After working with a few different approaches, I was able to find a few things that calmed my tinnitus immensely at night. It took me a good 6 weeks work, but the results are noticeable and so far, here to stay. I do admit that I could have followed the program a bit closer, but so far I’ve gotten better results than my doctor’s treatments and at about the price of one office copay!

So here’s the deal: this book is an incredible resource for people with tinnitus. It does work, but it requires you to put some effort in — it’s not a “magic pill.” If you’re serious about getting some silence in your life and have about 2 hours a week to dedicate to learning and applying these techniques then you should be fine. In my own experience though, rereading the book a few times to let the information really sink in is a huge help. Results can come slowly, so stick with it for at least 1 month before you decide whether or not it’s working.

Tinnitus Miracle Review in Brief:

What is it? Tinnitus Miracle is a 334 page eBook. eBooks are downloadable PDF files that can be read on both PC and Mac computers with the free application Adobe Reader (NOTE to Mac users! I had to use Adobe, it wouldn’t display correctly in Preview for some reason). You could probably put it on a Kindle or your iPad, but I didn’t test that.

Who’s it for? Anyone who’s frustrated with traditional tinnitus treatments and about to go insane from those constant hssssssss sounds should check this eBook out. At the very least, you’ll probably learn more about your condition than your doctor ever told you. That said, this book would also be an interesting read for anyone who’s into holistic treatments and natural cures. Med students might enjoy reading it, too.

What’s the problem? There’s about 130 pages of background info on hearing and tinnitus before Mr. Coleman goes into his 5-step process. People may be tempted to skip over this part (as I did at first) and look at the cures, but the early chapters help you understand your tinnitus and get in the proper mindset for holistic treatment.

Any extra info? The book comes with a host of free bonus eBooks. The only one I read was about sleeping better, but the information was solid and it’s a nice bonus for people like me who are (or WERE in my case ) kept awake by tinnitus. I also didn’t test the one-on-one sessions, but did have some correspondence with Mr. Coleman. He WILL answer your emails. Also, the book has a 60-day (I think) money-back guarantee if you’re not happy with it. A solid buy for about the same price as a 1-hour session with a specialist.

There are variety of different remedies and ways to treat tinnitus, although most people have to go through three or four different options before they find something that really works. The problem with tinnitus is that many people don’t look at the whole picture when trying to come up with a cure. There are variety of different things that cause tinnitus, but most people fall into only one or two groups.

Understanding the cause of ear ringing helps find tinnitus remedies.

The vast majority ( nearly 90%) of tinnitus cases are caused by damage to the inner ear. an acute head injury or over exposure to loud noises were damaged the hairs in the inner ear. As a result, the brain has trouble interpreting sound waves and we hear the ringing and hissing sounds of tinnitus.

Understanding how your brain processes sound and where your tinnitus comes from is key to finding a real remedy. whether you’re looking for a surgical, traditional or herbal treatment you must first understand why you have to notice and what is going on with your brain and body.

For more information on the causes of tinnitus and some of the most common remedies, check out our free report and read some of the other articles on this website.

Upon learning that they have perpetual ringing in their ears, many people react with “What? What did I do to cause tinnitus?”. While the causes of this ear condition are sometimes very hard to track down, it’s highly likely that your ear ringing is the result of one or two things. Here are the most common causes of tinnitus:

Damage to the inner ear: Inside your ear there are thousands of little hairs, called cochlea. When you’re exposed to too much loud noise or suffer a head injury, the cochlea are damaged. These hairs are actually part of the link between your ears and your brain, so when they aren’t working correctly, you hear the static, wooshing, hissing sounds of tinnitus.

Damage to your cochlea is the most common cause of tinnitus! Nearly 80% of tinnitus cases can be traced back to overexposure to high decibels or a head injury.

Stress and anxiety: Believe it or not, stress and anxiety can cause tinnitus or make your symptoms worse. So many tinnitus ebooks and courses talk about eating well, getting exercise and working off stress because living well helps fight off tinnitus!

Medications: Chemotherapy drugs can cause tinnitus, as can aspirin, antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (like ibuprofen). This type of tinnitus is most likely to be temporary and will stop when your body flushes out all of the medication.

Other conditions: Some ear diseases, like ear infections and Meniere’s disease, have tinnitus as a symptom. Usually, the ear ringing is only a minor symptom, with things like vertigo attacks and loss of balance being far more important for doctors to treat.

There are some other causes of tinnitus, but they are very uncommon. Even substances like lead and mercury can cause ear ringing if you are exposed to too much of them! However, if you don’t have any chronic medical issues and aren’t on medication, then chances are that your tinnitus is the result of damage to the hairs in your ears. While you’re looking for the best treatment for your condition, remember to take steps to prevent further damage: wear earplugs, avoid high-noise situations and be very careful with earbud-style headphones.

Did your doctor ever tell you about special tinnitus supplements? If he’s at all like my doctor, probably not!

It’s fairly rare that health care providers talk to tinnitus patients about ways to control their symptoms by taking supplements. If you’ve got a really great specialist, then I’m sure you’ve had this conversation, but for everyone else here’s the lowdown on supplements (and ingredients) that can be great for controlling that damn ringing…

Note: Not everything is going to work for everyone! Like always, I recommend keeping a diary of your tinnitus symptoms and tracking how your symptoms change from day to day. After maybe 3 – 6 weeks of taking tinnitus supplements, you should be able to refine your list to things that really work for you. Start with just one supplement at a time so you can evaluate their effectiveness individually.

*Ginkgo Bilboa: Supplements made from these plants are widely available and used to treat many different conditions. Taking them is also often very helpful for reliving tinnitus, but like other supplements, expect it to take 3 to 6 weeks before you see any results. WARNING!: ginkgo bilboa seeds are used in some forms of Chinese cooking and actually produce serious allergies in many people. The seeds are different from the supplements, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much.

*Rosemary: You can get theses supplements in tea form, although most people have more success with oral supplements. It’s a great substance for improving circulation, and if you’ve read our other articles, then you know just how important it is to have great circulation in your ears.

*Wild Hyssop: This neat substance can help reduce pain and inflammation. Think of it as ibuprofen for your tinnitus headaches, but without the long term side effects.

*Salicylic Acid: If your tinnitus causes vertigo, deafness or dizziness, then try this supplement. This one may also be really useful if your tinnitus began after taking certain medications or is linked to Meniere ‘s disease.

*Ferrum Phosphoricum: If you’ve read our free report, then you know how important it is to have a strong immune system when you have tinnitus. This supplement helps your tissue absorb iron, which strengthens your immune system and can also help prevent tinnitus-based headaches.

*Magnesium Phosphate: Another natural painkiller. If you have frequent headaches, then try this one first. It also helps your nerves, which is pretty important for controlling tinnitus.

*Avena Sativa: This supplement can help control your cholesterol levels, which leads to better circulation, which leads to decreased tinnitus symptoms.

Before you run out and spend too much money on supplements, pick only one or two of these that you think would best help your condition. If you can test them individually, that would be best, but remember that it’s going to take a few weeks (maybe up to a month or two) before you start seeing results. Stay optimistic and don’t get discouraged by a lack of results — these tinnitus supplements have worked for thousands of people and there’s no reason they won’t work for you!

Tinnitus is noise that is generated within the ear, rather than an external source. If you’ve ever had your ears ring after a concert, then you’ve experienced tinnitus to some degree.

Most tinnitus patients hear ringing sounds all of the time. The condition can affect one or both ears and there are varying degrees of severity. Some people say their tinnitus sounds like running water, personally mine sounded a bit like really obnoxious waves breaking on the breach.

There are different forms of tinnitus, too:

Pulsate tinnitus is when the person hears tinnitus noises in rhythm with the beating of his heart.

Objective tinnitus, although not very common, means that people around the tinnitus patient can hear the ringing, too.

Tonal tinnitus sounds more like a constant musical note, rather than white noise. This type is the closest to the occasional ringing in your ears with which most people are familiar.

In addition to ear ringing, tinnitus can have other symptoms, including: dizziness, headaches, pain in the ears and “stuffiness” of the ears.

Who gets tinnitus? Anyone who is exposed to loud volumes is at risk for developing tinnitus. I got mine from wearing my headphones too much (and too loud!) when I was in my teens. Elderly people also commonly get tinnitus if their arteries are hardening.

What causes tinnitus? The most common cause is damage to parts of your inner ear. Other causes can be stress, head injuries, medication and other disease. See our “Tinnitus Causes” section for more detailed information.

Is tinnitus a serious condition? It probably won’t kill you, but tinnitus is obnoxious. You know when you’re lying in bed at night and enjoying the sound of silence? Yeah, people with tinnitus can’t share that experience with you…

Tinnitus is obnoxious! Sometimes it causes depression and insomnia, but most people overreact because they don’t understand what tinnitus really is.

First of all, tinnitus almost never causes deafness. Hearing loss is common in tinnitus patients, usually due to damage of the inner ear, but tinnitus is not a degenerative hearing condition!

Second, tinnitus is very very rarely the first manifestation of a serious brain issue, like a tumor.

Can tinnitus be treated? Yes. The problem with tinnitus treatments is that your primary doctor, as great as she is, isn’t always the best person to treat tinnitus. Most tinnitus is caused by damage to your inner ears and requires a few different lifestyle changes to get under control.

There is no magic medicine for treating tinnitus, like there is for an ear infection, but probably 95% of cases can be controlled or mitigated to the point where the patient barely notices the ringing anymore.
